About
Whippet is a private yacht barge and crewed by relatives and friends of the owner, Nick. For the 2021 season she will be based at North Fambridge on the river Crouch until the end of May. Covid willing April and May will involve annual maintenance with upgrades to the navigation equipment and hot water systems. At the end of May it is planned to go down channel for summer cruises before returning at the beginning of September to continue with East Coast cruising. In late October she will be put to bed for the winter at North Fambridge Yacht Station.

Sun 28 Mar - Lowered down. 1 Week rigging maintenance. Heave up Sun 4 Apr.
Mon 05 Apr - Painting decks and equipment.
Sat 24 Apr - To Faversham. Dry dock for 2 weeks hull maintenance, survey, Install new hot water system
Mon 10 May - Return North Fambridge
Sat 23 Oct - Derig and lay up weekend
Cruises
Sat 29 May - 1 Week passage North Fambridge to Plymouth
Sun 13 Jun - 2 Week cruise to Scilly Isles from Plymouth and return
Sat 17 Jul - 2 Week West Country cruise from Plymouth between Falmouth and Dartmouth
Sat 21 Aug - 2 Week cruise from Plymouth to Channel Islands and return to North Fambridge

Shipmates
Many of the crew are qualified and experienced sailors who have sailed numerous yachts all around the UK and abroad. They also sailed S B Victor for many years as far as Bristol, Channel Islands and France as well as all of the South and East coasts extensively. A number of the crew are complete new comers to sailing. Getting familiar with Whippet is made an easy experience for them. And of course having a great time socially when not sailing.
